Within a fog-horn’s hoot of Port Phillip Bay, Port Melbourne’s Third Wave is named, not after the third breaker in a bay set, but after the global movement to produce high-quality coffee as an artisan’s creation. This it does beautifully. Test the daily blend, perhaps a Dark Horse double espresso with earthy, nutty chocolate flavours. Of note is owner Inga’s homeland Russian cuisine – try the Red Caviar Blini. It beats surfing.
